Inside the Wedding Capital of Texas: The Best Dripping Springs Wedding Venues
I might be a Texas wedding photographer, but I like to think that I bring a lot more than just photos (and great vibes) to your wedding experience. I might be an expert with cameras and lighting, but after 10 years photographing weddings, I know my way around the industry as a whole! Including some of the best wedding venues in the area.
Previously on the blog, I’ve shared some of my favorite wedding venues in San Antonio and Fredericksburg. I’ve also narrowed them down by theme, highlighting Queer Inclusive Venues and Boutique Hotel Wedding Venues. You may think that there are few areas left to cover, but there’s one area left that I absolutely have to share with you.
Located just west of Austin, Dripping Springs is known as the wedding capitol of Texas. Despite being only 15 miles long, there are 35 wedding venues packed in this city—and honestly? They’re all great. But this blog only has room for a few, so I’m going to narrow down my recommendations to 10 Dripping Springs wedding venues for you to get inspired by (and maybe even inquire with)!
10 Dripping Springs Wedding Venues
Prospect House
Prospect House has become one of my favorite venues recently. If you love clean lines, natural lighting, and a modern vibe, this is the perfect venue for you. It has multiple indoor and outdoor spaces, an open, airy atmosphere, and a team that knows what it’s doing (trust me, this is a huge perk). The entire venue is a blank canvas that can be customized to fit your vision.

The Addison Grove
This sister property to the Prospect House is run by the same team, but offers a completely different environment. Where the Prospect House is clean and modern, The Addison Grove is rustic elegance at its finest. You can host your ceremony in the grove or by the pond, enjoy cocktail hour on the patio, and have dinner and dancing in the 6,000 square foot barn. The barn has high ceilings, exposed beams, sliding glass doors, and intricate chandeliers, making it the perfect blend of refined elegance and countryside charm.
Camp Lucy
Dreamy of a luxury camp wedding? You’ve got to check out Camp Lucy. It’s a luxury resort that offers a spa, restaurant, pool, and various hiking trails. Despite the luxe atmosphere, nothing about Camp Lucy feels stuffy. The bridal suite is cozy with some vintage garden touches. You can get married outdoors, beneath the dreamy live oaks. And the grounds surrounding the venue are just stunning, giving you a beautiful backdrop for photos and cocktail hour.
Cactus Moon
You may have seen Cactus Moon featured on my Queer-Friendly Venues blog! This new venue is for out-of-the-box couples who want something different. It’s a little western without being too rustic, embracing that artsy Santa Fe vibe on 25 acres of Hill Country land.
Because of its unconventional layout, you have options upon options for your wedding here. You can have your ceremony on the pool deck or the courtyard, and then flip them for your reception. I think the large open hall, which they call the Mother of Hundreds, is the perfect place for dancing. Guests who prefer a quieter evening can congregate in the Big House or enjoy the cool night air in the courtyard. But these are only some of the available spaces; you truly need to see it for yourself to imagine your celebration here!
Canyonwood Ridge
Canyonwood Ridge offers the most flexible space, making it ideal for couples who love the outdoors, but still want the option of an indoor wedding. You can get married on the lawn, where the sunlight filters through the oak trees, or in the chapel. With peaked ceilings and large windows, the chapel is simple yet stunning. Because of its simplicity, you can tailor it to match your style.
The reception space is one of the best. It’s large, airy, and again, very customizable. Hosting your celebration at Canyonwood Ridge ensures you’ll have more than enough space for the most epic dance party—while still feeling classy.
Ma Maison
European architecture meets Texas hospitality at Ma Maison. It’s most well known for the Green Cathedral, a greenhouse-like structure that provides a unique and fanciful backdrop for wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours. But Ma Maison reaches across 23 acres, including a lake, a grove of live oak trees, an indoor chapel, trellis-covered patio, and a great hall for receptions. No matter what kind of wedding you want, this Dripping Springs wedding venue will only elevate it.
Morgan Creek Barn
Morgan Creek Barn is exactly what the name suggests: a barn. But somehow, it doesn’t feel like your run-of-the-mill Texas barn. It has a bold, minimalist, black-and-white design, making it more modern than rustic. My favorite part of the large indoor ceremony space is the massive windows. This is the perfect place for a summer wedding, since it embraces the Hill Country views without exposing you and your guests to the sweltering heat.
The reception space, too, is large and airy. You can set it up however you like and you’ll still have space for a dance floor! I recommend having cocktail hour on the patio with the cozy string lights overhead. Every wedding I’ve shot here feels simultaneously grounded and luxurious.
Venues Near Dripping Springs to Consider
The Preserve at Canyon Lake
The Preserve at Canyon Lake has everything you could possibly want in a wedding venue. A spacious, well-lit getting ready suite. Indoor and outdoor ceremony locations. A reception space with large windows and lots of natural light. Oh, and over 170 acres with sweeping views of the Hill Country.
Located just outside Dripping Springs, The Preserve is known for its grand staircase and romantic balconies—two of my favorite things to photograph! I especially love the balcony for first looks. It allows you to have a private moment while still embracing the scenery and architecture of this stunning venue.
Walden Retreats
Walden Retreats in Johnson City gives “glamping” a whole new definition. This is another venue where guests can stay on site, enjoying the glamping tents with full size beds, cozy ambience, and great views. The Event Lodge is 3,500 feet, meaning you can host as many guests as you’d like, and the grounds are beautiful all year round. I’ve had the honor of capturing a surprise proposal here, and have been crossing my fingers for a wedding!
Onera
Situated in Wimberly, Onera is best for intimate wedding celebrations. When you have a small gathering, all of your guests can stay onsite and enjoy the beautiful, intentional details that make this venue so dreamy. They have some of the coolest Airbnb-style housing I’ve ever seen, with lots of glass walls and windows so you can take in the panoramic views.
I recommend hosting your ceremony on the Green Lawn, so you can soak in the big sky and scenery. Then you can transition to the Event Center for your reception! Everything here feels earthy and grounded, making it the perfect location for a destination-style micro wedding close to home.
Dripping Springs Wedding Photographer
They don’t call Dripping Springs the wedding capitol of Texas for nothing! These are just a handful of the stunning venues in the area. I love how unique they are. Every couple can find something that fits their vibe and budget!

Leah was the absolute best to work with!
