I’ve been a Texas wedding photographer for over 10 years. I’ve photographed weddings at all kinds of venues, from sprawling ranches to the couple’s backyards. And still, boutique hotel wedding venues remain my absolute favorite.
Boutique hotel venues offer an intimacy and personalization that you can’t always find in a traditional venue. They’re usually small, experience-led spaces that create an incredible atmosphere. Especially here in Austin, boutique hotels offer a level of service and experience that few other venues can match. But that’s not the only reason I love them.
Planning an Austin destination wedding, or hosting a large number of out of town guests? Hosting your celebration at a boutique hotel will make logistics 10x easier. When everything is in one place, neither you or your guests will need to manage additional hotel room blocks or transportation. It simplifies the process and creates a more relaxing atmosphere so you can spend actual quality time with your guests. Oh, and they’re just so freaking cool.
Austin has some of the most beautiful, unique, and elevated boutique hotel wedding venues. This blog is going to outline a few of my favorites so you can get just a taste of Austin’s most stunning venues. They’ve got lodging. They’ve got vibes. And most importantly, they’ve got experience, so you know you’re in capable hands.

My job is to support your vision and live in the moment with you, ensuring your photos reflect the heart and soul of every second. I love discovering that “thing” that is uniquely you and capturing it in a photo.
So let’s hop on a call, I wanna know every detail!
Few venues manage to combine sleek and modern design with a homey and cozy environment. But the Thompson Austin Hotel makes it look easy. This 32-story hotel in downtown Austin is the perfect location for an urban wedding. You can get ready in the immaculate suites and slip downstairs for some city-style portraits. And don’t forget the epic balcony with incredible views of the city!

Hotel Ella has been a long time favorite of mine. I mean, how could it not be? Just picture your wedding on the front lawn, with the neoclassical pillars of the old hotel in the background. Hotel Ella perfectly blends classic vintage architecture with a modern aesthetic, making it an ideal space for every kind of wedding.
And if you’re planning a wedding weekend, you can host your welcome party or rehearsal dinner at the bar, enjoying specialty cocktails while watching the sun set behind the Austin skyline. I’m drooling just thinking about it.

Do you want to feel like you’re getting married in Europe without leaving Texas? Allow me to present The Commodore Perry Estate. With manicured gardens, unique suites full of character, and five star dining, you truly can have an elegant, European experience without leaving home. This venue has incredible pockets of light and texture that are simply perfect for portraits.
Nothing is more iconic than The Driskill, located in the heart of downtown Austin. This boutique hotel was built in 1886, and still overflows with vintage charm and quiet grandeur. There are multiple event spaces to fit the size and style of your wedding. The bar is perfect for night-before drinks, the Jim Hogg Parlor is full of history, and the grand ballroom feels like it was plucked straight out of a fairytale. And if you and your partner need an escape from the busyness of the day, you can hide away on one of the balconies and watch the cityscape sparkle in every direction.

Hotel Saint Cecilia is the garden party venue of your dreams. This boutique hotel wedding venue is better suited for intimate weddings, and it will be absolutely unforgettable. The entire property is built to surround a stunning oak tree, beneath which you can host your ceremony. Then, you can spread throughout the lush, colorful grounds to enjoy a peaceful reception with the people you love the most.
If you want something that screams “Austin,” with its quintessential mix of luxury, timeless beauty, and quirkiness, the Austin Proper Hotel is the venue for you. It has everything you need for stunning wedding photos: large windows, warm light, and a modern western aesthetic that grounds you in Texas’s rich history. The Austin Proper is also located close to the Butterfly Bridge, which is one of my favorite places in the city for sunset portraits.

Although The Four Seasons is larger than most boutique hotel wedding venues, it deserved an honorable mention in this post. Whatever kind of wedding you envision, you can have it here. Want to go all out with hundreds of guests? The ballroom is all yours. Want a more intimate wedding on the grounds? The lawn is both beautiful and secluded. No matter what kind of wedding you host here, I’ll be sure to sneak you away for golden hour portraits by the lake.
Okay, Camp Lucy is technically located in Dripping Springs, but that’s only a 30-minute drive from Austin, so I decided to include it. Camp Lucy is a glamorous resort that has everything you could possibly want for a wedding weekend. It has enough room to host all of your guests, a distinctive space for your rehearsal dinner or welcome party, and many locations to choose from for your ceremony and reception! They even host activities for wedding parties and guests.
This is one of my all-time favorite venues in Texas, and it just so happens to qualify as a boutique hotel wedding venue, too. You can truly create any kind of wedding you want here.

I believe your wedding should feel as unique and personal as your love story, which means finding a venue that speaks to you. You don’t have to settle for cookie-cutter—not when these beautiful boutique hotel wedding venues exist right on our doorstep! If you want your wedding to feel distinctive, elevated, and easy, I cannot recommend these venues enough. They’re stunning, yes, but even beyond that, they offer an unparalleled level of service.
You shouldn’t have to worry about anything on your wedding day. Not your venue, and certainly not your photographer. If you’re looking for a local Austin wedding photographer who knows their way around the city, I would love to work with you. Explore my wedding photography services and inquire to get started!
The moment we met her, she matched our energy perfectly, it felt like we’d known her forever. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, which is not an easy thing to do, and truly brought out our personalities in every shot.
