It gives an effortlessly timeless, editorial look—the kind of portraits that feel like an intimate date night.

Outside Hotel Ella Austin

The Grand Columned Porch, Balconies & Swimming Pool

Step outside the Parlor Bar and the vibe completely shifts. The columned porch and balconies make the hotel feel like a dreamy Southern estate—right in the heart of downtown. (It’s just steps away from the University of Texas and other local icons like the State Capitol Building.)

Outside the mansion, we can capture everything from classic editorial portraits under the columns to candid, playful moments on the porch. The mix of vintage architecture and open green space makes Hotel Ella one of my favorite engagement photo spots for couples who love a little variety. Since it’s located so centrally in the city, many of my couples like to pair it with other favorite locations like Retro Boat Rentals on Lady Bird Lake.
