Alissa & Elijah’s wedding is a fall lover’s dream. Each little detail – her unique wedding gown, croquet on the back lawn, the antique architecture – instantly transported guests into the most stunning, vintage autumn wedding at The Ingenhuett on High.
Every second was a timeless ode to their one-of-a-kind love story.
Saying “I do” in one of the oldest buildings in Texas, The Ingenhuett on High sits in the heart of Comfort’s idyllic downtown. The Ingenhuett offers beautifully restored architecture and is an icon beyond the small town of Comfort. The artistic mix of old and new has created an unforgettable ambiance of vintage elegance with an industrial touch.
Set amongst the dreamy exposed limestone walls of The Ingenhuett’s bridal suite, Alissa and her bridesmaids played cards while getting ready. It was important to Alissa for everything to feel relaxed – and she and the rest of the bridal party did all their own hair and makeup! They created a beautiful bonding moment, rather than the sometimes frenzied preparation of walking down the aisle.
After hair and makeup, Alissa stepped into one of my ALL-TIME favorite and unique wedding gowns. Made of the most beautiful off-white gingham fabric and paired with a shining gold belt, this dress was the perfect compliment to every detail of their day – and I am forever obsessed with the stunning banana train.
While the bridal party was getting ready upstairs, the groom and groomsmen were getting ready in The Ingenhuett’s iconic basement space, filled with the most amazing speakeasy atmosphere.
While there is so much that I love about Alissa & Elijah’s big day, their first look with a little game of croquet is definitely a favorite. Fun and personal twists like this make my heart oh-so-happy.
The Ingenhuett’s back lawn is filled with oak trees and ivy-covered buildings, creating a timeless fall feel. These photos alone encapsulate how truly perfect The Ingenhuett on High was for their vintage autumn wedding.
The in-floor koi pond of The Ingenhuett’s courtyard is a staple of this venue, and it’s easy to see why. The pond brings a natural element to the brick and steel accents of the space, and as a photographer, provides some incredible photo opportunities.
The warm lights and tranquil reflections of the couple? *Dreamy*
From toasts on The Ingenhuett’s balcony overlooking downtown Comfort to cozying up on a vintage sofa, Alissa & Elijah took advantage of every gorgeous angle The Ingenhuett offers.
After taking their portraits, the wedding party entered the reception swinging in style. The night was kicked off with the couple’s first dance under the gorgeous chandeliers of the main hall, followed by sweet father-daughter and mother-son dances.
In the spirit of the season, the wedding cake and groom’s cake had a distinctly fall feel. The surrounding spread of treats included pumpkins, seasonal fruit and s’mores. And I can’t forget the vintage teapot flower centerpieces! Every moment painted the perfect picture for their vintage, autumn wedding at The Ingenhuett on High.
One of the very best decisions we made while planning our wedding was to ask Leah to be our photographer! From the first phone call, Leah was incredibly communicative and went above and beyond to ensure that we felt comfortable in front of the camera (which was no small feat!). Leah was instrumental in helping our wedding day run as smoothly as possible. When you hire a photographer with this much experience, you’re not just getting a photographer. Leah was a wealth of advice and ideas, even coming up with the idea for our ceremony backdrop… She truly values ensuring your personality gets translated through the pictures she takes. We are typically quite awkward people in front of cameras, but Leah made it seem natural. We felt confident and our personalities were reflected so well through the pictures because of how much Leah genuinely cared about our experience. We couldn’t be more grateful! Not to mention, Leah’s hilarious and just a fun person to hang out with while completing major life milestones! We would absolutely love to work with Leah again!
I’m so grateful Alissa & Elijah trusted me with capturing their beautifully unique day. Their vintage autumn wedding at The Ingenhuett on High satisfied all my fall wedding dreams, nestled in one of my favorite spots in the Texas Hill Country.
