From the moment I met Nicole & Alec, I knew their wedding day was going to be one-of-a-kind. I was so excited when they booked me for their natural and modern wedding at the South Congress Hotel in downtown Austin.

From saying “I do” surrounded by breathtaking floral arrangements to taking to the streets of South Congress, every detail created a warm and inviting atmosphere filled with modern boho flair. You won’t want to miss a peek at their dreamy day.

Situated in the heart of downtown, South Congress Hotel is an Austin icon. Nicole and Alec utilized their gorgeous outdoor courtyard, pool, and ballroom to create a city wedding with a timeless, nature-inspired twist.

Getting Ready | Modern, Glam & Timeless

Nicole and Alec chose to do a first look and exchange private vows before the ceremony. I highly recommend these quiet moments to my couples so they have time to pause and be alone together. Not only does it help them slow down and soak in their day, but there are always sweet moments for me to capture quietly from the wings.

Modern Boho Wedding Ceremony | The Courtyard at South Congress Hotel

Mid-century mod chairs plus a mix of fresh and dried florals pulled in the warm and natural theme of their wedding day. Set against the modern lines of the courtyard windows and the soft glow of string lights, this ceremony was simply stunning.

Y’all, these floral arrangements could have an entire post dedicated to themselves. Mountain Laurel Floral knocked it out of the park. Just wait until you see the reception!

Poolside Cocktail Hour | The Pool at South Congress Hotel

Nothing says summer wedding like cocktail hour by the pool, but leave it to the South Congress Hotel to make it effortlessly glam. Their pool is a local hangout during the summer months, which made it the perfect location for Nicole and Alec’s guests to mingle and relax after the ceremony.

South Congress Wedding Portraits | Downtown Austin

While their guests were chilling poolside, Nicole and Alec took to the South Congress streets for more couples portraits. It was a blast (and super-fun bonus) to capture them in post-ceremony bliss amongst the heart of downtown.

Swoon-Worthy Wedding Reception | The Ballroom at South Congress Hotel

For the reception, the couple stepped out of the hotel elevator in movie-star style (that reception dress and those shoes 🤩). The night was topped out with specialty cocktails named after their furry guests of honor and STUNNING hanging floral arrangements… it’s impossible not to swoon over all the beautiful details that went into their soiree.
