When Cinthya and Kyle reached out to me about capturing their engagement photos, I was thrilled to hear they wanted to incorporate some of their favorite things into the session. They made the drive all the way from Midland to the beautiful Hill Country, bringing along something extra special—Kyle’s dirt bike. As a San Antonio engagement photographer, I always love when couples bring a personal touch to their photos, and Cinthya and Kyle’s session at Joshua Springs Preserve had it all. From their fun motocross-inspired moments to their classic golden hour in the fields, it was not only gorgeous, but truly their own.
Joshua Springs Preserve in Comfort, Texas, is a hidden gem in the Hill Country – and it was the perfect backdrop for Cinthya and Kyle’s engagement session. This expansive park spans over 400 acres, offering a variety of landscapes that make for stunning photos. From sprawling oaks and tall grasses to fish-filled ponds, the preserve provides endless opportunities for couples looking to connect with nature and enjoy a little extra privacy during their shoot. AND, it’s my go-to park for year round beauty. The live oaks stay green year round, so even winter sessions when the hill country can look a little drab, Joshua Springs still has pretty spots for photos!
The park is not only picturesque but also offers plenty of amenities, including walking trails, areas for bird and wildlife observation and restrooms. It’s an ideal location for outdoorsy couples like Cinthya and Kyle, who wanted to incorporate both their love for nature and the serene beauty of the Hill Country into their photos. It’s also just a short 10-minute drive from downtown Comfort!
One of the highlights of the session was definitely the dirt bike! Kyle thought it would be a fun and unique twist to include in their engagement photos. He really wanted to have Cinthya play the role of a monster girl, holding signs that displayed their wedding date and names. So we made it happen!
Cinthya absolutely nailed the part, adding a touch of playfulness to the photos while looking absolutely stunning in a silk dress and high heels. It was super important for them to feel like themselves in their photos, and this fun twist made their engagement session so them.
“I love how you capture how awkward we are! Love them!!”
As the sun began to set, Joshua Springs Preserve was bathed in the most gorgeous golden light. Cinthya and Kyle took this opportunity to wander through the trails and tall grass fields, enjoying the moment and each other’s company. Kyle even carried Cinthya’s heels for her towards the end of the session—there were so many sweet moments that showed the bond they share.
While Cinthya loved the idea of the dirt bike, it was really important to her that they got some truly timeless photos together. The fields washed in golden hour light was the perfect way to wrap up their session, honoring the love and joy they have for each other in such a truly timeless setting.
I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening with Cinthya and Kyle. Their adventurous spirit, playful personalities and genuine love for each other made this engagement session at Joshua Springs Preserve unforgettable.
I’ve also curated a list of my favorite San Antonio engagement photo locations – or if you’re looking for something outside the city, some of my favorite Hill Country spots.
