From the moment I met Cam and Stephen, I knew their engagement session was going to be something special. Cam reached out to me while in flight school for the Air Force. Despite being stationed in separate places, they were determined to make their engagement session happen in SA. We scheduled their session during one of their weekends together after Cam’s graduation, and I couldn’t wait to capture their love in the heart of San Antonio. Because they’re tying the knot at the stunning Hotel Emma, they decided to shoot their engagement photos nearby.
Unfortunately, the hotel only allows indoor photos on wedding days. So, we decided to make the most of the hotel’s beautiful surroundings in the historic Pearl District. We explored around the hotel, wandered through the paths along the River Walk, and even made our way to the rooftop with the perfect view of Hotel Emma and the skyline.
The result? A collection of Hotel Emma engagement photos that truly celebrate their love and their connection to this incredible city.
Our first stop when we arrived at the Hotel Emma was the River Walk. This iconic riverside sanctuary perfectly captures the spirit of downtown San Antonio. And with the Hotel Emma nestled alongside it, we grabbed a few engagement photos by the water.
As we explored, we found the most picturesque corners to capture their love. The lush greenery, winding pathways and tranquil water set the stage for some super sweet moments.
After our stroll along the River Walk, we made our way back to the area surrounding Hotel Emma. The exterior of the hotel is just as stunning as its interiors. There truly isn’t a bad angle with the vine-covered walls and the charming walking paths of the historic Pearl district. We spent some time capturing Cam and Stephen where the architecture, greenery, and their love all came together beautifully. Stephen and I even geeked out over camera gear, which made the walks between locations extra fun.
The day wouldn’t have been complete without one last stop: a rooftop with views of Hotel Emma and downtown SA. There’s something romantic about heading up to a downtown rooftop that never disappoints. I highly recommend climbing the parking garage steps to soak in the sweeping views of the city below. With the hotel and landmarks like the Tower of Americas in the background, it really was the best ending to their Hotel Emma engagement photos. We even managed to avoid the crowds that tend to gather in the area on Sundays—a bit of patience and creativity can go a long way when it’s busy!
Cam and Stephen’s Hotel Emma engagement photos were the perfect blend of everything they love about San Antonio—its history, its beauty and the sweet memories they’re making here. I’m so thrilled to have been part of this special day and even more excited to see them tie the knot at the hotel!
