Eden & Avery’s Austin Engagement Photos at Arrive Hotel & Volstead Bar
There truly isn’t a more iconic Austin love story – and theirs began amidst the neon lights and bustling nightlife of 6th Street in the heart of downtown. Eden & Avery met at Volstead Bar. At the time, Avery was the “bouncer” and immediately caught Eden’s eye. This was the meet-cute that started it all (see why I’m obsessed).
Chapter One of Their 6th Street Engagement Session:
The Arrive Hotel
Our 6th Street adventure in downtown Austin kicked off at the trendy Arrive Hotel. Eden & Avery chose this location for its fun vibe and proximity to their favorite hangouts on 6th Street. It was my first time shooting at this boutique hotel, and their lobby-lounge had all my favorite things: sleek modern details, playful edgy vibes, natural accents, and alllll the windows. The Arrive Hotel set the stage for some super sweet moments with Eden wearing head-to-toe white and Avery in a sleek black suit and tie.
Chapter Two of Their 6th Street Engagement Session:
Volstead Bar
I love, love, love going back down memory lane with my couples. So naturally, the next stop was Volstead Bar, the very place where their love story began. The couple opted for an outfit change for this part of the session, and it felt so them. Eden rocked a leather mini skirt, high pony and retro-esque varsity jacket emblazoned with TEXAS on the back. Meanwhile, Avery looked equally cool in an effortless all-black ensemble and a yellow beanie. I told you my couples are so freakin’ cool.
They cozied up in front of Volstead Bar, and then we wandered around their favorite 6th Street haunts. And because they were intimately familiar with all these locations, they were already at ease in front of the camera. It was so fun listening to them tell stories about their time walking these sidewalks. I felt like I was stepping into their personal love story, and it was an honor capturing it all against the backdrop of Austin’s undeniable charm.
This 6th Street engagement session was a dream for me to capture. It was so fun seeing their playful, easy-going (and downright cool) personalities come out as they walked streets that meant so much to them and their story. I love them to pieces and cannot wait for their wedding in April!
