My love for Retro Boat Rentals in Austin began with my very first session on Lady Bird Lake, and it has grown with each engagement I’ve photographed since. Retro Boat Rentals ATX offers a unique and truly Austin twist to capture the love stories of my couples. From their vintage boats to the stunning downtown views, every engagement session on Lady Bird Lake is an unforgettable experience. In this blog post, I’m spotlighting three beautiful sessions that showcase the super fun and unforgettable vibe of an Austin engagement session with Retro Boat Rentals.
Boat Name: Ethel
Type: 1958 Tomahawk
Time of Day: Sunset Cruise
Vibe/Aesthetic: Allison & Mason’s engagement photos were everything. They both looked amazing in all-white attire, and their session looked like it came straight out of Vogue. They capped off their cruise with a bottle of bubbly which fit the mood perfectly.
We kicked off the afternoon at the historic Driskill Hotel, which set the tone for their DROP-DEAD-GORGEOUS downtown Austin engagement shoot. The 35mm film photos from their session are some of my all-time favorites, along with the ones I took while we were at the Driskill.
Boat Name: Gidget
Color: Pastel pink and white
Type: 1958 Fireflite
Time of Day: Sunset Cruise
Vibe/Aesthetic: Ann Marie & Adam’s engagement shoot was my first ever session with Retro Boat Rentals Austin, and I immediately fell in love. Their photos felt so classic and timeless with the sun setting over the lake and the city skyline in the background. They also popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate the moment.
Their engagement session began with us wandering South Congress Avenue downtown – and it was quintessentially Austin from start to finish (and SO much fun).
Boat Name: Batgirl
Color: Retro red, white, and silver
Type: 1959 Beeline Sapphire
Time of Day: Morning Cruise
Vibe/Aesthetic: Peyton & William’s session felt very vintage and whimsical. The light was a bit harsher since it was morning, but we still got great shots of them with the city skyline in the background and the lush greens of the cypress trees and lake. We also captured some cute photos of them drinking cold beverages at the boathouse.
After the boat ride, we spent the rest of the session wandering the streets of downtown Austin and the University of Texas campus.
Retro Boat Rentals Austin has become one of my absolute favorite engagement session ideas in downtown Austin. The unique vintage boats, stunning city views, and the unforgettable experience of cruising on Lady Bird Lake make it a perfect choice for any Austin-lovin’ couples.
