About a year ago, Kyler hired me to take his and Amber’s proposal photos in Fredericksburg. They are the sweetest couple, and I was thrilled when Amber reached out afterwards to ask me to photograph their Canyonwood Ridge wedding in Dripping Springs. She said she felt so comfortable taking photos with me and didn’t want anyone else to shoot her wedding day (aka the best compliment EVER).
Their day was filled with love and joy, and it was all beautifully complemented by their elegant white wedding details. From the pearl accents on everything and the most thoughtful touches, it’s easy to see their sweet love through every photo.
Dripping Springs is known as the Texas Wedding Capitol, and for good reason. Wedding venues like Canyonwood Ridge go above and beyond to make weddings effortless and elegant, all set amid the stunning beauty of the Texas Hill Country.
The venue offers 12,000 square feet of event space nestled atop a ridge with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Amber & Kyler opted to go with the gorgeous indoor chapel filled with natural light thanks to some stunning windows. It was the perfect backdrop for their elegant white wedding.
Amber really wanted a simple and elegant white wedding – and I love that she chose pearl accents from head to toe. Even the silk slip and robe she got ready in was covered with stunning pearl details and really captured the timeless romantic wedding theme of their day.
The getting ready suite at Canyonwood Ridge is spacious and also filled with natural light. This was perfect for Amber’s large wedding party (and her flower girl had allll the space to run around).
While Amber was getting ready, the guys headed to their getting ready space. Kyler showed up in the most iconic wedding t-shirt. If you couldn’t tell, he’s his bride’s number one fan!
Later, Amber had first looks with all the people she loves most and shared the sweetest moments with her bridesmaids, family and finally, a first look with her husband-to-be.
While I love a good emotional first look (which they had an abundance of on their day), I’m also a sucker for the fact Kyler wore socks covered in their dogs’ faces. Every little detail was so thoughtful and the best mix of profound and playful. They also chose to share some private vows during their first look for an extra special moment, just for themselves.
Complete with white rose petals lining the aisle (all the flowers were done by Amber’s aunt), Amber and Kyler’s romantic wedding ceremony was filled with so many sweet moments and some absolutely ethereal natural light.
After taking more family portraits, Amber & Kyler took a moment to say cheers to their just-married bliss. I love when my couples agree to take a moment, a little pause, on their wedding day.
We took their golden hour portraits under the oak trees that are one of focal points of the Canyonwood Ridge grounds – and they did not disappoint.
Like so many moments during their day, Amber & Kyler’s love for each other and their families had everyone tearing up or with huge smiles on their faces. Their first dances with their parents were no exception!
As you would expect, the toasts were equally moving and filled with laughter. It was really important for Amber & Kyler to shower their loved ones with their gratitude, and it’s always an honor to document these moments for them to hold onto forever.
My couples always have the best wedding cakes, but I really have to take a moment for their wedding cake from Cakes by Vivi based in Austin. As a dog mom myself, the subtle way they incorporated their doggos onto their wedding cake was adorable.
After donning a shorter wedding reception dress for the evening (encrusted with pearls, of course), Amber and Kyler were ready to party the night away with their guests.
They had their first date at a bar where they danced to the I wear sunglasses at night song. So during their party, everyone donned sunglasses and danced to the song again. It was the cutest nod to how their love story all started.
After one epic celebration surrounded by all their favorite people, Amber & Kyler had one more dance while their guests waited for them outside the Canyonwood Ridge reception hall.
After the song ended, they were sent off with sparklers – perfectly tying up the sweetest day ever.
“Leah!!!!
You are AMAZING. You weren’t joking when you said there’s a ton!!! I can’t even begin to explain how beautifully you captured our day.
We did a little watch party with our family and we laughed and cried together.
Thank you truly, for capturing the day and all of our favorite people. We would choose you ten times over. 🤍”
“Yes, thank you so much Leah! Every picture was so beautiful. I know you worked your tail off to capture each moment! So thankful that I was able to find you for the proposal and then have you as our wedding photographer. Definitely one of the best decisions we’ve made!”
Amber & Kyler’s day was a beautiful mix of romantic elegance, love and joy – and I’m honored they chose me to document every stunning second.
