Fun Things To Do at Your Wedding

There is so much going on at weddings that couples can easily forget that this day is about THEM. Packing your day with personality and creating space for meaningful moments should be one of the first things you think about when wedding planning. There are so many fun things to do at your wedding.

This is a list of some of my favorite fun things to do at your wedding other than saying “I do”. My couples have been so creative crafting special moments for themselves through out the wedding day that also make perfect photo

Write letters to each other

There is so much you want to say to your partner before you say “I do”. Writing letters to each other telling them how much you love them, are excited to spend the rest of your life together, and how much fun it has been to get to this moment can be an amazing way to talk to each other before walking down the aisle. Bonus tip: write letters and share them with your parents.

First Look

This non-traditional tradition is another great opportunity to have a moment alone and enjoy each other. Talk about the day and share what’s happened so far. The stress of waiting is lifted and you get to see each other and enjoy this moment free of onlookers. See more of this elegant styled shoot.

Do a first look with your Dad

You’ve spent all day getting ready, you’re in the dress of your dreams, take a minute and enjoy a first look with your dad. You’re his little girl and he’s dreamed of this moment since you were born. Celebrate together, cry a little, and just have that beautiful moment together.

Celebrate when You Walk Back Down the Aisle

Use this first opportunity as partners for life to celebrate! Give your guests bubbles, confetti, or flower petals to toss as you walk down the aisle. It’s the perfect moment to celebrate and have fun with a moment that is normally very plain.

Take 15 minutes alone

Wedding days are a whirlwind of events. You spend so much of your day away from your partner and when you do see them for the first time it’s at the altar in front of possibly 100+ of your closest friends and family. There is so much you want to say and share but the time is short. That’s where this less traditional event comes into play

After you say “I Do” and you’ve walked back down the aisle, take 15 minutes together before moving on with the “traditional” timeline. Set aside time to enjoy each other, ask your partner how their day has been, tell each other how amazing they look, and maybe open a special bottle of champagne. 

This could be one of the few times on your wedding day that you get to enjoy your partner alone and share your experience with them.

Sneak Away and Eat Cake

There is no rule that you have to cut and then eat the cake in front of all your guests. Take this opportunity to sneak away and share some cake and your experiences of the day with each other. 

Don’t forget to let your photographer know so you can get some sweet photos to remember your time enjoying your cake and eating it too.

Change Your Outfits

Reception or exit time is the perfect opportunity to change your wedding attire. Move and groove to the music better without the bulk of a wedding dress. Have fun with it and be creative!

Have a Last Dance

While your guests are lining up for your exit it’s the perfect time to have a last dance. The reception hall is empty, it’s just you and your partner, and that last special song to enjoy.

End the Night with Something Fun

The grand exit is the culmination of a beautiful and exciting day. How you end the night is up to you. Bubbles, sparklers, smoke bombs, confetti, paper airplanes, streamers, or any mix of these. End the night memorably and with dramatic flair.
