I’ve been a Texas wedding photographer for over ten years, and I have seen firsthand how difficult it can be for queer couples to find a wedding venue and vendors that unequivocally support them. That’s why I’ve always considered it my job not just to photograph a wedding, but to advocate for, support, and help my couples in every way I can! I’ve put together this list of LGBT-friendly wedding venues in the Texas Hill Country and surrounding areas to make planning your wedding a little easier.
When I first started photographing weddings over ten years ago, there were hardly any LGBT friendly wedding venues. Luckily—thanks to the hard and ceaseless work of so many people—there are now dozens. I’ve organized this list by town so you can quickly jump to the area you want to have your wedding in and hopefully find your dream venue!
Contigo Ranch
I love Contigo Ranch. With onsite lodging, incredible views of the Hill Country, and the cutest getting-ready cabins, Contigo Ranch perfectly blends western charm with modern comfort.

Swallows Eve
Looking for something a little off the beaten path? Swallows Eve is tucked away on the outskirts of Fredericksburg. With close access to lodging, this is the perfect venue for a wedding weekend with the classic Hill Country experience.

Camp Hideaway
Located in the gorgeous Texas wine country, the stunning sunset views paired with a unique glamping experience make Camp Hideaway a local favorite! It’s close enough to Fredericksburg for easy travel, and far enough away to feel private and exclusive.

Willow Sky Ranch
Willow Sky Ranch screams Hill Country rustic—but in a cute and vintage way. The Big House is the perfect backdrop for getting ready photos, and the reception space can be styled like an old-timey dance hall!

Elm Pass Woods
Elm Pass Woods is the most LGBT friendly wedding venue in the Texas Hill Country. If you love the outdoors and dream of getting married somewhere naturally beautiful with a touch of whimsy, you will love it here! They recently built a permanent structure for ceremonies or receptions that mimics classic teepee festival tents.

Sendera Springs
Sendera Springs is one of my all-time favorite venues in the Hill Country simply because of the lake views. Just imagine the sunset reflected in the water as you and your partner start your next chapter together! This venue is gorgeous, timeless, and welcomes all couples.

Moon Shadow Haven
Set on 17 acres of land in the heart of the Hill Country, Moon Shadow Haven is a dream of a wedding venue. With some on-site lodging, a chapel, and a beautiful reception space made of sparkling white stone, this venue is the perfect blank slate for your wedding!

Prospect House
This is perhaps one of the most well-known hill country wedding venues, and yes, it’s inclusive! Prospect House is pretty enough to leave just as it is, or you can decorate it to match the vision for your wedding. And the best part? It’s only a 30-minute drive from Austin and is close enough to Dripping Springs for hotels, restaurants, and more.

Mae’s Ridge
Mae’s Ridge is a hidden gem. This venue effortlessly blends the beauty of the Hill Country with a modern, luxurious feel. If you’re searching for LGBT friendly wedding venues in this area, I can’t recommend Mae’s Ridge enough!

Cactus Moon
I am always excited when a new venue opens up, and Cactus Moon is perfect for wedding weekends. Despite being only 25 miles from Austin, this venue feels like it’s in its own world. I highly recommend sitting around the fire and stargazing with the love of your life on the best day ever. I can’t wait to shoot my first wedding here and share photos so you can see how lovely it is!
Camino Real Ranch
Want something out of the box but still close to Austin? You need to check out Camino Real Ranch. This boutique venue takes “Desert Chic” to a whole new level, and I am itching to shoot more weddings here!

Dos Palomas Ranch
If you’re looking for a venue that has views for miles, put Dos Palomas Ranch on your list! On 300 acres, this venue has multiple drop-dead-gorgeous locations for your ceremony, amazing places for portraits, and enough room for everyone you could possibly want to invite. If “go big or go home” is your wedding motto, Dos Palomas can handle everything you could throw at them.
Onera
On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, Onera is a boutique hotel venue perfect for intimate gatherings. If you really want your wedding to be a celebration with your closest people in a beautiful place, Onera might be the perfect venue for you.

Cypress Falls
Is rustic boho chic your vibe? Then you will love Cypress Falls. This camp-style venue is perfect for outdoorsy couples who want to soak in nature. With an outdoor bar and reception space, you can dance the night away beneath the stars.

The Veranda
I know this blog is focusing on LGBT friendly wedding venues in the Texas Hill Country, but I just had to sneak one in for my San Antonio people. The Veranda captures everything that is so beautiful about historic San Antonio. You get beautiful live Oak trees, a European-inspired fountain, and an atmosphere that feels romantically old-world. It’s basically a palace, and I’m excited every time I get to return!

Planning a wedding can be overwhelming for everyone… but queer couples often have to navigate an extra layer of stress. If I can say anything to you, friend, let it be this: You are so welcome here. My photography is about capturing love in all of its forms. I know how important this day is to you, and you deserve to feel fully celebrated. So if you are looking for a queer-inclusive photographer, I would love to talk with you. My goal is to make wedding photography feel easy and exciting, and that means I will walk with you every step of the way! Check out my wedding photography services and contact me to learn more!
